I was driving to the downtown Phoenix area on Wednesday morning and I noticed a thick brown cloud. I thought to myself, "that has to be dust, that can't be smog".. I know the valley as a whole has a problem with smog, but it couldn't be that bad, right? Most unfortunately, I was wrong. In the 8 months I was in Vancouver, not only did the drivers get worse, so did the air. Welcome to mini-LA.

There's a few things different about my elementary school since I've been there. The primary (K-3rd) playground equipment has almost entirely been replaced, the back portable classrooms, where all the 5th & 6th grade classes were held, have all been demolished or removed or whatever it is they do with those things. It's so empty back there (see #5).

Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver. It's main attraction is a steam clock (Gassy Jack), however I find the architecture alittle more interesting.
