the gas chambers

This is the second larger gas chamber, which was built after the original could no longer handle the amount of bodies.

barracks for the masses

Each bunk was for about 3-4 people. This barrack was just the first in a line of (I believe) 26 buildings, which continued in the yard just beyond the window.

entering dachau

Dachau is just a short trip outside Munich by train. An interesting experience indeed.

deutsche bahn

The German transit system is something to be admired. There's problems, of course, but you can go almost anywhere, and quite often, without a car. And regarding the first shot - I was taking the ones after it, and he shouted over, asking if he was in my pictures. A friend translated, shouted back "No", and he quickly raised his hands as seen. In short, elder Germans are awesome.

dublin castle

Dublin Castle really isn't much of a medieval castle these days (only the Norman Tower remains), but what is there now still dates back quite a bit. We did a tour of the State Apartments and St. Patrick's Hall, both impressive, and did get to see parts of the old Roman walls underneath Norman Tower. Tidbit: the wood floor in the 5th photo is the original floor in the portrait room in the 6th photo.

glasgow

We were only in Glasgow for 1/2 a day, and I was feeling ill at this point, so we didn't see much of Glasgow. And I'm sure, had the circumstances been different, I might have enjoyed it more. An interesting city, nevertheless.
